I was charged 50.00€. What's it all about?
As soon as we receive a toll transaction, we block €50 on your card. This is not a charge, just a reservation. Unfortunately, some banks show it as a charge in the account. Usually there is more than one toll transaction, so we collect the toll from 3-4 days together and then charge the amount collectively. If the toll of these 3-4 days remains under 50€, the block will be released and then the amount debited (e.g. 30€), with amounts over 50€, e.g. 90€, the 50€ are then charged, and then e.g. 40€ are debited as well.
Standard shipping time
We always try to dispatch orders within 24 hours. Weekend orders are regularly shipped on Monday. Within Germany, the standard shipping time is 3-4 working days. Within the EU, to Switzerland and the United Kingdom it takes approx. 1 week from dispatch.
I'm in Portugal, on the A79 in France or the Pedemontana Lombarda highway in Italy. My device does not beep.
No problem, in Portugal, on the A79 in France and on the Pedemontana Lomboarda highway around Milano this is expected behaviour in most cases. There the toll operator uses license plate recognition. As a Tollbird user, your last registered license plate number is always stored with all toll operators (especially in Portugal). The toll in Portugal and the mentioned highways is therefore assigned to your Tollbird account and billed via your license plate. The device is not read by the antenna and therefore gives no acoustic feedback.
My device is not working
The antennas of the toll station are aligned exactly to the center of the lane so that vehicles in the adjacent lane are not read by the antenna unintentionally. It is therefore very important that the device is mounted close to the interior mirror (which side of it, does not matter). The toll stations in Italy read when entering the lane, while in France the antennas are close to the barrier. We therefore ask you to really attach the device to the windshield and not to hold it in your hand. If it still doesn't work, let us know and we'll take care of it. But the right installation helps in most cases.

I have a motorhome. Does Tollbird work for me?
Generally yes! As long as your motorhome is not higher than 3.00m at any point, you can use our badge. The height is being controlled, please make 100% sure that your vehicle is below the allowed 3.00m of height, even including additional items on the roof like AC or sat dishes.
